Can someone please explain in detail how to get that wah wah wah sound on a harmonica? Seems like everyone can do it except for me.

Hold it between your thumbs, with your cupped hands behind it. With your hands cup closed, you get that fat sound. Open the cup to get the thin sound. Practice opening and closing just a bit to get the wa wa effect in varying amounts.

Don't you mean thumb and forefingers? Do I open and close the rest?

Yes, thumb and forefingers, both hands. and you open and close the cup by moving your hands together and apart. Once you star you will figure the rest out.

I've heard that you're supposed to be able to get a vibrato effect by opening and closing the fingers on your right hand, if you're holding it correctly. I'm not having an easy time of it, possibly because I have smaller hands.

I just do that by pushing or pulling harder on the note.

Hey guys. Could anyone give me tips on playing single notes? Any help would be much appreciated.
